Kontron has released an ATX server-class motherboard designed to bring Intel’s 4th and 5th generation Xeon scalable processors to embedded applications
Called K9051-C741, it has Intel’s C741 chipset, and an LGA4677 socket for processors up to 350W. DDR5 RDIMM memory is supported up to 768Gbyte and 5600Mtransfer/s.
10G Ethernet is supported through two RJ45 ports and there are six SATA connectors 6G incl. RAID support
“With processors up to 64 cores supported and eight independent memory channels [16 to 96Gbyte on each channels], it excels in memory intensive applications requiring a 24/7 operating environment,” according to the company, which claimed:. “The motherboard’s versatility and expandability, including memory, GPU, storage, and five PCIe Gen 5 expansion slots, offer unmatched flexibility. Its robust construction and advanced thermal management guarantee stability and reliability even under challenging conditions. ”
OpenBMC is integrated for system management and maintenance.
10 year life is predicted and, as well as industry, applications – including AI – are foreseen in imaging, medical equipment and robotics.
