PVA, a global supplier of conformal coating systems, innovative fluid dispensing solutions and precision custom technology, received a 2020 GLOBAL Technology Award in the category of Best Product – North America for its PREVENT ™ Emergency Resuscitator. The award was announced during a Virtual Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2020.
Frank Hart, Managing Director at PVA, commented: “It’s a tremendous honor to receive such a prestigious award for such an important product. So many people at PVA were involved in this project and we share this with our employees and New Yorkers that were impacted by COVID-19.”
PREVENT ™ is an FDA-authorized emergency ventilator designed to treat patients suffering from COVID-19 respiratory failure. This motorized device automatically compresses an Ambu® bag to provide air to the lungs of a COVID-19 patient, eliminating the human error and fatigue that results from manual resuscitation.
PREVENT is indicated for emergency resuscitation with appropriate critical care monitoring on adult patients over 66 pounds that require mechanical respiratory support. PVA is the first manufacturing company in the world, outside of the medical device industry, to receive an FDA Emergency Use Authorization for ventilators to combat COVID-19.
